Ambulance Service

A common misconception is that ambulances are used only in “emergency” situations but much of the work done by ambulance service providers is in a non-emergency environment. MedFleet provides mainly transportation for patients who need to be moved from hospital to hospital or other facilities (interfacility) or who are discharged and returning home. We also serve as a mutual aid partner to our local county fire departments, ensuring they have back up resources in times of high call volume. In addition, we provide ALS and BLS ambulance medical standby for sporting events, 5Ks, during natural and other disasters, and other special events.

If you believe you or someone you are caring for is experiencing a life threatening medical emergency, you should always call 911 immediately.

Ambulance Team

We provide our community with a complete range of staff fully trained and capable of properly attending to any emergency or non-emergency need including:

  • Critical Care Paramedics
  • Florida State Certified Paramedics and EMTs
  • First Responders
  • Non-Medical Stretcher Attendants

We provide ongoing certification and other training to our employees including a leadership development program designed specifically for our team.

When to Call 911

Always call 911 when you encounter life threatening emergency conditions, such as:

  • Chest Pain: sudden or recent onset, severe difficulty breaking
  • Accuse Respiratory Difficulty
  • Severe Trauma: head injury, loss of consciousness, compound fractures, uncontrolled bleeding
  • Stroke Symptoms: slurred speech, facial droop, paralysis
  • Seizures

Emergency ambulance service is needed when your health is in serious danger, and every second counts. Call 911 whenever you suspect someone experiencing a medical emergency.

This reference is meant to be used by medically trained personnel as a guide to making the right choice between 911 or non-emergent ambulance service. When in doubt, call 911.
